You can turn off crossplay by going to Settings, then Privacy & online safety. From there, navigate to Xbox Live privacy, select View details & customize, and then Communication & multiplayer. Finally, set 'You can play with people outside Xbox Live' to Block.

I've done this myself! Just head to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and then block crossplay.
