Super simple! Just plug your headset into the controller and the mic should turn on automatically. If that doesn't work, go to Settings > Kinect & Devices > Devices & Accessories and make sure your controller and headset are assigned correctly.

Just plug in the headset, make sure mute isn’t on, and you’re good to go. Worked for me!

To turn on your mic, just press the Xbox button on your controller, go to System > Settings > Display & sound > Volume > Party chat output, and make sure 'Headset' is selected. Happy gaming!
