I had the same problem! Go to 'Controls' in the 'Options' menu, then to the 'Instructor' tab, and uncheck the box that says 'Use Instructor in All Control Modes.' Easy peasy!
Auto roll is annoying. Just turn off 'Instructor' in the control settings. Problem solved.
