Go to options, then the 'Controls' tab. Look for 'Weapons Control' and you'll find the auto-target setting. Turn it off, and you're good to go!

I used to have the same problem. The solution is in the ‘Controls’ tab under ‘Common.’ Just uncheck auto-target and you're golden.
