To stop Steam from automatically updating your games, open Steam and go to Settings > Downloads. Here, you'll see an option called 'Allow downloads during gameplay' - make sure to uncheck this. Then, go to your Library, right-click on the game you want to manage, select 'Properties,' go to the 'Updates' tab, and in the 'Automatic updates' section, you can choose 'Only update this game when I launch it.' This won't completely stop updates, but it gives you more control over when they happen.

Honestly, why would you want to turn them off? Steam updates are there to make things better. I'd say, let it update.

You can also manage your Steam Client's bandwidth usage for updates if you don't want to completely turn them off. Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads and there is a 'Limit bandwidth to' option. This way, updates won't consume all your internet bandwidth.

Just set your Steam games to only update when you launch them. Easy peasy. Less hassle, more gaming!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
