You can simply press F3, then F8 to bring up the mouse cursor, and uncheck 'Disable Console'. Press F3 again to close it. Done and done.

Just hit F3 to open the console and then F8 to get your cursor. Uncheck the box next to 'Disable Console', then hit F3 again. Boom! Console's off.
