Easy peasy! Just head over to your profile, tap the three horizontal lines (aka the hamburger menu), go to Settings, select Privacy, then Activity Status, and toggle off 'Show Activity Status'. Voila, you're invisible!

I've done this myself – super simple. Go to Settings from your profile, then Privacy, tap Activity Status, and switch off 'Show Activity Status'. No one will see you lurking!
Settings > Privacy > Activity Status > OFF. Done and done.
Just go to your profile, hit Settings > Privacy > Activity Status and turn off 'Show Activity Status'. You're now a ghost to your Insta friends!
