Open your Facebook app, click on the three lines (menu), go to Setting & Privacy, then select Notifications, and turn off 'Notification Sounds'. Problem solved!
No need to lose your mind over it. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Media and Contacts > Sounds in the App, and toggle it off. Done & done!
