You can silence that PlayStation beep by enabling ‘Rest Mode’ instead of powering off completely. Just hold the PS button, select 'Power', and then 'Enter Rest Mode' instead of 'Turn Off PS4/PS5'.

If you want to avoid the beep, you can also use the PlayStation app to power on/off your console remotely. Surprisingly convenient!

Pro tip: Cover the speaker with a bit of tape or cloth. It's the DIY mute button! (Not the most elegant solution, but it works.)

From personal experience, I found that keeping my console in Rest Mode helps—it skips the loud beep entirely when you wake it back up.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
