You can't turn off the timer in competitive modes, but you can play in 'explorer mode' which doesn't have time limits!

Just stick to the single-player mode and you'll have all the time in the world to explore and guess.
Sorry, but disabling the timer isn't an option in timed challenges. Try practice mode instead!
