I've unlocked most of the skins by grinding through the Towers of Time and finishing various in-game challenges. Some skins are also available through seasonal events and purchases in the in-game store.

You can unlock character skins in Mortal Kombat X by completing specific challenges in the Towers, buying them with Koins, Souls, or Time Krystals from the in-game store, or participating in special events. Good luck, and happy fighting!
