How to unlock all characters in Super Smash Bros 64?
I unlocked all characters by just completing various challenges and battles. For example, beating 1P Mode and Break the Targets. It's a blast!

Just beat 1P Mode with different characters and you'll see them popping up to challenge you. It's simpler than it sounds, trust me!
Speedrun 1P Mode for Captain Falcon, and don't use continues on Normal for Ness. Luigi and Jigglypuff are pretty straightforward after that.
To unlock Luigi, beat Break the Targets with all 8 starter characters. For Captain Falcon, complete 1P Mode in under 20 minutes with any character and then defeat him. To get Ness, clear 1P Mode on Normal without using any continues. Finally, Jigglypuff is unlocked by finishing 1P Mode with any character.
