To unlock Dark Pit in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, play through Classic Mode with Palutena or get him through Adventure Mode (World of Light). He's also available after 36 VS matches!
Speedrun World of Light and you'll find him in the Sacred Realm. Trust me, it's a fun ride!
Simple way: just log 36 VS matches and he'll show up ready to fight.
Honestly, keep playing. He'll eventually show up as a challenger after enough fights or through Classic Mode routes.
