Unfortunately, you can't unlock Sonic in Super Mario 64 DS. He's not a character available in the game.

Sonic isn't in Super Mario 64 DS. You can only play as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario. Sorry to burst your bubble!

Been there, tried that! Sonic doesn't show up in Mario 64 DS. Focus on unlocking Wario instead. Trust me, it's worth it.
