Unlocking the Castle in Fallout 4 is all about getting in good with the Minutemen. Start by following their quest line and eventually, Preston Garvey will hit you up with the quest 'Taking Independence.' That's your golden ticket. You'll have to fight a pretty tough Mirelurk Queen though, so come prepared with plenty of ammo and maybe a Power Armor set. Once you've defeated her and her Mirelurk minions, the Castle is all yours to rebuild and use as a base.

Just show up with a big gun and shoot everything that moves. Jokes aside, you do need to start the Minutemen questline and follow it until you get to 'Taking Independence.' It's not a walk in the park, but hey, who doesn't want their own castle?
