You need a Treasure Cracker! They come in three levels. Head to your ranch's upgrade shop and buy the first one to start unlocking those pods.

You can get Treasure Crackers by upgrading your Vacpack. Just keep feeding slimes, exploring, and collecting resources to reach the higher levels.
