How to Update a PS4 with USB
NoticingPuff路7 months agoFirst, format a USB drive to FAT32. Create a folder named 'PS4', then inside it, another named 'UPDATE'. Download the update file from the official PlayStation website and save it in the 'UPDATE' folder as 'PS4UPDATE.PUP'. Plug the USB into your PS4, start it in Safe Mode, select 'Update System Software', and follow the prompts.

Download the update file from PlayStation's website. Put it into a folder structure on the USB drive like this: PS4 > UPDATE > PS4UPDATE.PUP. Plug it into the PS4, start in Safe Mode, and select 'Update System Software'. Easy peasy!
Honestly, using the internet for updates is easier.
Just grab a USB stick, load the update file from the PlayStation website, and follow the folder naming: PS4 > UPDATE > PS4UPDATE.PUP. Plug it in, boot in Safe Mode, and update!
