I've done this a bunch of times. Just grab the update file from Sony’s site, stick it in the right folders on your USB (PS3/UPDATE), and plug it into your console. Go to System Update and choose Storage Media. Easy-peasy!

Step 1: Download the latest PS3 update file from the PlayStation website and save it to a USB storage device in a folder named 'PS3', and inside that, a folder named 'UPDATE'. Step 2: Insert the USB device into your PS3, go to Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Download the update file, stick it on a USB, and let the PS3 do the rest. Boom, updated!

Just download the update file to a USB stick, insert it into the PS3, and update through System Settings. You don't need to be a tech genius for this!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
