First, format a USB drive to FAT32. Next, create these folders: PS4 > UPDATE. Download the update file from the PlayStation website and save it in the UPDATE folder as PS4UPDATE.PUP. Plug the USB into your PS4, go to Safe Mode, and pick Update System Software.

I did this last week. Just remember, the folders must be named exactly: 'PS4' and 'UPDATE'. Otherwise, it won't work. Good luck!

Skip the USB. It's way easier to update online. Just go to settings and update straight from the console!

Just download the update file from Sony's site, put it in PS4/UPDATE on a FAT32 USB drive, and update in Safe Mode. Simple!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
