Be careful with the microSD card you choose for your Steam Deck. Not all cards are created equal. Look for one that's fast enough to handle games without causing load times to skyrocket. I went with a UHS-I U3 card and noticed a huge difference in performance compared to a standard microSD. Quality matters!
Actually, you don't technically 'upgrade' the memory in the Steam Deck like you would a PC's RAM. The onboard storage isn't user-replaceable, but you can massively expand your storage space with a microSD card. Just pop it in the slot, and you're good to go. Easy peasy.
Honestly, just cloud save your games. Who needs physical storage these days anyway?
