I just upgraded mine last week! Took out the old drive (be careful with those tiny screws!), popped in a new 500GB SSD, and my PS3 runs smoother than ever.

Why bother? Just get an external HDD instead.

Upgrading your PS3's hard drive is pretty straightforward! First, back up your data. Then, slide open the HDD compartment on the side, unscrew the old drive, and replace it with a new 2.5-inch SATA drive. Don鈥檛 forget to restore your data afterward!
