Hit the sync button in the game settings if it's not automatic. Should fix it.

It's mostly automatic! Just keep Xbox Live connected while playing, and your saves should sync to the cloud. Easy peasy!

From personal experience, just stay online on Xbox Live and it syncs your saves automatically. Worked for me so far!
