Make sure your controller drivers are installed and up-to-date. Open the game, go to settings, and set up your controller layout. Been using my Xbox controller for ages with no issues!

Easy peasy! Just plug in your controller to your PC, open Super Smash Bros. Crusade, and head to the options menu. From there, you can configure your controller in the control settings. Happy smashing!
