You'll need to download a tool like SCP Toolkit. Install it, connect your PS3 controller via USB, and run the driver installer in SCP Toolkit. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Hot take: Just buy a PS4 controller and use it with a USB cable. It鈥檚 so much simpler and works flawlessly with most games.

From experience, SCP Toolkit is your best bet. I set mine up in 10 minutes, and it鈥檚 been smooth sailing ever since. Just remember to follow every step carefully.

You can also use the DS3 Tool (better known as MotioninJoy). It鈥檚 not as user-friendly as SCP Toolkit, but it gets the job done. Just download, install, and configure it to recognize your controller.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
