Fill up the special gauge by inking everything in sight, and when it's ready, smash down on the R stick for some serious splattastic action.
I've played a ton of Splatoon 2, and trust me, using your special at the right moment can change everything. Wait until the enemy team is bunched up, and then hit R stick to give 'em the Ink Storm or whatever special weapon you have!
