First, make sure your game is up and running, then head over to the Nook Stop terminal in the Resident Services building. There, you'll see an option to 'Invite amiibo Camper.' Pop your amiibo figure or card onto the NFC touchpoint on your controller, and boom, you're set! The game will recognize your amiibo, and the character associated with it will visit your campsite. Just remember, not all characters will stick around to live on your island, so don't get your hopes up with every single amiibo!
