Bobby pins in Fallout 76 are your besties for picking locks! Just head up to a lock that's within your skill level, engage with it, and then use the bobby pins to carefully rotate the lock. Too much force without the correct alignment, and snap! There goes your bobby pin. So, gentle and patient is the way to go. Plus, always keep an eye out for more bobby pins in the world; you'll need 'em.

Just stick 'em in locks and pray you don't break 'em all. Seriously, they break WAY too easy.

Pro tip from someone who's been through too many bobby pins: Start with slight movements on the lock. If you feel resistance, back off and try a slightly different angle. You'll get a feel for it and start popping locks open like a pro. Also, hoard those bobby pins like gold, because when you're out, you're gonna wish you had more.
