Easy peasy! During battles, press the D-pad in the direction of the capsule you want to use. Just make sure you set them in your inventory before the fight!

In the heat of battle, hold down the LB (or L1 for PS players) and use the D-pad to choose and activate your capsule. Boom, instant power-up!
