To use a Crimson Altar in Terraria, you gotta have the right materials in your inventory first, like ores for crafting boss summoning items or weapons. Then, just walk up to the altar with those mats in your inventory and open your crafting menu. The altar works as a crafting station, so if you're close enough, you'll see new crafting options that are only available with the altar.

Don't try to break it with a regular hammer early in the game, or you'll summon a very angry and very lethal boss. Crimson Altars are for crafting special items, not for interior decorating.

IMO, Crimson Altars are overrated. Just focus on finding a good loot and upgrading your gear before messing around with them.

You simply right-click it, buddy. Make sure you're standing pretty close and have the necessary items to craft whatever magic you're aiming for. It's all about what's in your inventory!
