Just toss that sucker near where the ghost spawns. Those spooky specters hate it.
In Phasmophobia, place the crucifix on the ground in rooms where you suspect ghost activity. It'll prevent a hunt if the ghost tries to appear within 3 meters of it.
From my experience, drop the crucifix in high-activity areas, and make sure it's close to you. Better safe than ghost chow!
