How to Use External SSD on Steam Deck
Using an external SSD with your Steam Deck is pretty straightforward! First, make sure your SSD is formatted correctly (FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS). Then, simply connect it to your Steam Deck using the USB-C port. You might need a USB-C hub if you want to connect more peripherals. Once connected, go to SteamOS' settings and you should see the drive. You can manage your game installations from there, choosing to install new games on the SSD or move existing ones to free up internal space.

Honestly, I don't get the hype about adding an external SSD. The internal storage is plenty for me, and it keeps the setup clean without extra cables.
Just plug in and play, folks! Seriously, connect your SSD via the USB-C, and the Deck should recognize it. Move games back and forth in your settings. Easy.
I added an external SSD to my Steam Deck and it was a game changer. More space for games and super easy to switch between titles. Just connect the SSD, and the system does the rest. Make sure your drive's format is compatible, and you're all set!
