I've tried using a keyboard and mouse with Splatoon 2, and you definitely need an adapter like the Magic-NS or something similar. It takes some getting used to, but it's doable!

Sorry, but Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch doesn't support keyboard and mouse. You'll have to stick to good ol' Joy-Cons or Pro Controller.
