In my experience, you need to wait for the nitro gauge to be full. Once it's ready, just hit the nitro button for a burst of speed!
Just tap the nitro button on the right side of the screen during a race. You'll see a boost gauge fill up, and then zoom past your competition!
You press on the nitro button. Simple as that. Boost your way to victory!
