Honestly, I kinda think radio stations are a waste of resources early on. You're better off focusing on resource production and expanding slowly. Just my two cents.
From personal experience, don't forget that while a radio station can be a fantastic tool to increase your vault population, it does increase the risk of attracting deathclaws. So, beef up your defenses before broadcasting too widely!
