How to Use the Steam Option in Your Instant Pot
EarningOunce路7 months agoHonestly, just throw in water, slap your food on the trivet, hit steam, and call it a day. Cooking shouldn't be rocket science.

Make sure you're not overfilling your Instant Pot when using the steam function. Half full for most items, but only a third full for foods that expand like rice or beans. Overfilling can block the steam release and turn your meal into a mess.
I tried steaming carrots and they came out perfect! Just 1 cup of water, chopped carrots on the trivet, and set the Instant Pot to steam for 2 minutes. Quick release the pressure right after. Super easy and tasty.
First off, to steam in your Instant Pot, you gotta add at least a cup of water to the pot - that steam's gotta come from somewhere, right? Then, place your food in a steam basket or on the trivet that came with your Instant Pot. Hit the 'Steam' button and adjust the time depending on what you're cooking. Veggies like broccoli only need about 0-3 minutes, while something like chicken breasts will take about 10-15 minutes. Don't forget to seal the vent to keep that steam inside!
