To unleash stronger Mystic Artes in Tales of Berseria, make sure your Soul Gauge is at least 3. Then, during a combo, hold L2 and hit a corresponding button for that character's Mystic Arte. Unleash the magic!
You need 3 or more souls in your Soul Gauge and be in over-limit mode. While attacking, hold L2 to activate your Mystic Arte. Pure power!
Honestly, just hold L2 once you're in over-limit with 3 or more souls. Easy peasy!
