I got mine working by downloading the Kinect for Windows SDK and Dev Kit. Plug it in, install the drivers, and use software like OBS or Skype to select it as your cam. Done and dusted!

Honestly, it's not worth the trouble. Easier to get a cheap webcam that just works out of the box.

First, you'll need to install the Kinect SDK (v1.8) from Microsoft's site. Then, connect the Kinect to your PC using a USB adapter. Finally, use a compatible app like OBS to select Kinect as your webcam source. Voila!

I鈥檝e used my Xbox 360 Kinect as a webcam, and it's mostly straightforward. First, you need the Kinect for Windows SDK and Developer Toolkit from Microsoft. After installing those, plug in the Kinect, and Windows should recognize it. Use OBS or any compatible video app to select it as your webcam.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
