You can find your snapshots by pressing the home button and then selecting the album icon at the bottom. They'll all be there!
Get to the Switch home screen and press the square button on the left Joy-Con with a circle inside (the Capture Button). Then select Album. Bam, pics galore!
I know it sounds jank, but open the home screen and then that Album icon. You'll find all your Mario moments there.
Hot take: who needs in-game photo viewing? Just use the Switch album from the home screen.
