Insert the movies at the right points: 'Gintama: The Movie' after episode 57, 'Gintama: The Final Chapter' after episode 316, and 'Gintama: The Very Final' at the end. Enjoy the laughs and feels!
I watched Gintama and here's what worked best for me: watch episodes 1-49, then the first movie. Continue with episodes 50-265, then the second movie. Finish the remaining episodes, then watch the third movie. Trust me, it flows perfectly!
You don't need to overthink it. Just watch it all in release order, sprinkle the movies in when they were originally released!
