Just use a scale? I mean, c'mon, we're talking about micrograms here. Not something you can eyeball or jury-rig some DIY balance for. If you're serious about it, invest in a small digital scale. They're not that expensive.

Honestly, weighing Pokemon cards accurately without a scale is pretty much a non-starter. The differences in weight are so tiny that you'd need sensitive equipment to detect them. If you're trying to determine a card's rarity or potential value without a scale, your best bet is to get to know the cards well. Familiarize yourself with the feel of different card types and the thickness of the card stock. High-value cards sometimes have a slightly different texture or thickness, but it's a subtle art more than an exact science. Also, remember to handle cards gently to avoid damaging them!

I once tried balancing a ruler on a pencil, placing a known weight on one end and the card on the other to see if it tips, but let's just say it's not a method I'd recommend. Too much room for error and honestly, it felt a bit like I was back in elementary school science class. Pretty sure I wasn't doing anything but entertaining myself.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
