Rush the middle for emeralds and diamonds! Those upgrade your gear and make you a beast in combat.
It's all about strategy. Coordinate with your team and always have someone watching the bed. Don't all wander off.
Know the map and control the center. You get the best resources and can easily attack or defend from there.
Just build a huge fortress around your bed and never leave it. (not serious advice, but hey, it could work!)
