To zero your gun, you gotta set the rangefinder (default key: 'V') to match the distance to your target. Then adjust the range on your gun sight accordingly using the range adjustment keys (default: 'Page Up' and 'Page Down'). Practice makes perfect, commander!

I like to eyeball it. Seriously, if you've played enough, you get a feel for the distances and can adjust without too much fiddling. Experience is your best friend here!
