How was Hot Wheels invented?
DisbowelingFeel路7 months agoHot Wheels zoomed into existence thanks to a spark of inspiration from Elliot Handler, the co-founder of Mattel, in 1968. Seeing his own son play with Matchbox cars, Elliot wanted to create a more exciting, tricked-out line of toy cars. He envisioned cars with flashy designs, big tires, and superchargers - basically, the coolest cars any kid (or adult) could dream of. And just like that, Hot Wheels made its hot debut, transforming the toy car industry forever and fueling the imaginations of generations.

Hot Wheels? Oh, purely a stroke of genius by Elliot Handler. He basically looked at Matchbox cars, cranked up the flair to 11, and gave us the iconic Hot Wheels. Best thing since sliced bread, if you ask me.
Simply put: Elliot Handler watched his kid play with some Matchbox cars and thought, 'We can do better.' Enter Hot Wheels, with bigger tires and more style. The rest is toy history!
