Most of them? Not really. They were mass-produced and loads of people kept them, thinking they'd be worth loads one day. Unless you've got a rare find or one from a limited edition series, it's probably more valuable as a nostalgia piece.
Nah, keep it for the memories. Most aren't worth much, but the joy they bring? Priceless.
I actually sold a complete set from 1994 for a decent amount last year! It was in perfect condition, and the buyer was a hardcore collector. So, yes, they can be, but it's a niche market. You gotta find the right buyer.
