Not everything in Boruto is canon! The manga by Ukyo Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto is the primary canon, while the anime includes filler episodes that aren't part of the manga storyline.

Most of Boruto is considered canon, but some of the anime arcs are filler. Stick to the manga for the pure canonical experience!
