Nope, Channel is not instant speed. It’s actually a sorcery, so you can only cast it during your main phase when the stack is empty. Gotta plan your mana usage accordingly!

Absolutely not! Channel is a sorcery. This means you're playing it on your turn, during your main phase, and not in response to anything your opponent is doing. Timing is everything!
