Yup, CJ is still alive and kicking in the GTA universe during the events of GTA 5. Though he doesn't make a physical appearance in the game, the spirit of San Andreas and its characters like CJ is very much alive in the sprawling world of Los Santos. You won't bump into him walking down Vinewood Boulevard, but the legacy of characters like CJ is felt throughout the game.

As someone who's played through GTA 5 way too many times, I can confirm CJ's not physically in the game. However, there are easter eggs and references to the older GTA games that'll make any fan smile.

Nope, CJ isn't in GTA 5. Not even a cameo. The game's set years later in a different part of the GTA universe, so no CJ.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
