Sort of! The first few episodes of Season 2 cover the same story as the Mugen Train movie but with some added scenes.

They overlap, but the movie is more condensed and intense while the show fleshes things out a bit more.

Nope, but Season 2 does adapt the Mugen Train arc, so it's a bit repetitive if you watched the movie first.
