Gintama isn't strictly serious, but when it decides to get serious, it hits hard. Just be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions with lots of laughs in between.

As a long-time Gintama fan, I can tell you it's mostly a comedy, but it shines in its serious moments. Some arcs are incredibly deep and emotional. Worth every second!

Mostly a comedy, but it strikes a balance with some really heartfelt and intense episodes.

Gintama is like a Swiss Army knife of anime: it has comedy, action, and drama all rolled into one! While it primarily focuses on humor and parody, it also delivers some truly emotional and intense arcs. You'll laugh, cry, and then laugh some more.
