I've watched the whole series. Trust me, the rest of it stays intense but not as shocking as Episode 1. If you got past that, you should be okay!

Yes and no. The first episode is definitely the most shocking, but the series doesn't shy away from dark and intense moments. Just less jarring after the initial shock.
